Make sure that you start your COMMUNITY SERVICE hours as soon as you can. Many of my students that are now graduating from college started when they were in 6th grade. The students I started working with my first year at Keppel now attend Berkley, UCLA, and Willam's College. A couple of them received FULL SCHOLARSHIPS too.
Make sure you keep track of your volunteer hours. Below is a sample form.
Ideas for Voulnteer Hours:
• Many of the teachers need help this summer. They are moving out of their bungalows to another bungalow. They need help packing. Two FLAG Korean teachers will be moving out of the building and to the bungalows.

• Anytime you go to a school and a help any teacher
• Help a teacher correct papers (you can even take the paperwork home and check it and bring it back to school)
• Library
• Hospital
• Any SCHOOL
• Office (go to work with your parents and get volunteer credit)
• Community Garden (Mrs. Zierhut is in charge of the Glendale Community Garden)
• Tutor a younger student Kinder - 3r grade for FREE....have their parents sign it
• You are ALWAYS welcome to VOLUNTEER in the computer lab. A couple of my TECH TEAM students do editing jobs for me -- this definitely counts!
